The historic Minnekhada Lodge stands in for Laurel Lodge, where pivotal scenes in the last episode of season one take place. This beautifully crafted lodge was built in 1934 by Lieutenant Governor Eric Hamber in the style of a traditional Scottish Hunting Lodge. The lodge is famous as a spot for hosting foreign dignitaries, government officials, and even royalty. It is even believed that Queen Elizabeth visited in 1939 with her father King George VI. While the lodge is open for viewing on the first Sunday of each month, it’s also a wonderful location for social functions. While visiting, make sure to check out the 175 hectare Minnekhada Regional Park featuring trails, picnic facilities, Pitt-Addington Marsh, Minnekhada Farm, and more.
