The medical clinic featured in The Mother is actually Camp Capilano in North Vancouver. Built in 1946, Camp Capilano is located in the magnificent 160-hectare Capilano River Regional Park. Nestled in a forested setting, the camp is popular with nature lovers, youth organizations and those looking for a beautiful nature setting for their meetings and retreats. The park boasts a lovely natural river canyon with steep slopes and high cliffs, giant fir trees and swift flowing waterways. While visiting the camp, you can access the many hiking trails and vistas. Make sure you take a walk to the Capilano Salmon Hatchery, a free attraction that gets over 400,000 visitors annually or checkout the majestic Cleveland Dam, built in 1954, which provides drinking water to much of the Greater Vancouver Region.
