The scene where Muncie meets with Agent Franco Quinones and learns about the man who has been trailing him was filmed at Toronto’s Underpass Park, a public space built underneath the Gardiner Expressway which features a playground, basketball courts, a skate park, and a variety of murals and sculptures. Nearby, you can find Corktown Common, a huge outdoor space with scenic walking trails along the Don River. After exploring Corktown, grab a craft beer at The Aviary or sit down for a delicious Lebanese feast at Souk Tabule.
The East York favourite Ritz Restaurant appears in Episode 2 of the series, as Muncie and his daughter Kallie catch up. While this spot doesn’t serve Philly cheesesteaks in real life, patrons can enjoy an amazing selection of sandwiches, burgers, milkshakes, and Filipino classics like kare-kare stew and chicken adobo. Fans of Greek food should also be sure to check out nearby restaurant The Greek Grill for some authentic saganaki, souvlaki or gyros. After a delicious meal, go for a walk or kick the soccer ball around at Dieppe Park or head to Todmorden Mills Heritage Site to explore several heritage buildings along a lush nature trail.
After receiving a tip from the FBI, Muncie meets with mysterious millionaire Stu Magnusson for the first time in the luxurious Gotham Club. These scenes were all filmed at the Elgin & Winter Garden Theatres, a historic Toronto landmark and the world’s last surviving Edwardian stacked theatres. The lower Elgin Theatre is designed with gold and marble for an elegant feel to showcase the glamour of vaudeville and motion pictures, while the upper Winter Garden Theater was designed after an atmospheric starlit garden, with columns designed after tree trunks and greenery spread throughout. Located near Yonge & Dundas Square, this neighbourhood has plenty of great restaurants to check out before or after a show, including Trattoria Mercatto, Leña Restaurant and Richmond Station.
