The iconic sign for Hamilton’s The Donut Stop can be seen in Episode 7, when Muncie and Demetrius stop in for a sweet treat. Part of the Hamilton community since 1983, The Donut Stop serves up freshly baked donuts and fresh ground coffee, in addition to a full service menu of diner classics. After grabbing a donut or fritter, head over to the nearby Hamilton Waterworks, to explore the Hamilton Museum of Steam & Technology and learn about the history of Canada’s industrial revolution in one of Canada’s most unique National Historic Sites. Afterwards, take a sunset stroll along the shores of Confederation Beach and grab a milkshake from Hutch’s On the Beach, a vintage lakeside diner that has been open since 1946.
If Episode 5 and 6 of The Madness got you in the mood for some bowling, head on over University Lanes to play a few games of ten pin where the series was filmed. University Lanes has been a staple in the Dundas community for over 60 years, offering drop in, youth and league bowling. University Lanes is also home to the Downstairs Deli, where you can grab some of your favourite snacks while you bowl, including Franco’s favourite: hot dogs. After a few rounds of bowling, head out for a scenic hike along the trails at Powers Crossing, or dive into some reading at the Dundas Museum & Archives, which features 16,000 artifacts and nearly 300 metres of documents detailing the history of Dundas Valley.
