Lillian Massey Building

Ani’s wedding dress fitting at the Sak’s Fifth Avenue bridal boutique was shot at the University of Toronto’s Lillian Massey Building. Designed in the neo-classical style by Toronto architect George Miller, the building’s lush marble and oak interiors, as well as a magnificent set of stained glass windows, are more than 100 years old. The building is named after Lillian Massey, a philanthropist and educator who advocated for the university to create a four-year household science degree program–which went on to employ the university’s first female professors. Just around the corner, and named after Lillian’s father, is Hart House — a cultural hub and student centre home to an acclaimed art gallery, restaurant and modern athletics facility, as well as The Hart House Theatre, which is one of the oldest performing arts spaces in Canada. While in the area, take a stroll down the Philosopher’s Walk, a historic footpath on the University of Toronto campus that features stunning green spaces, a limestone amphitheater and the Toronto historical landmark The Alexandra Gates.

Lee Restaurant

The dinner with Ani, Luke, Mr. Larson and his wife was shot at Lee, a popular Asian fusion spot that’s been on Toronto’s lively King Street West for more than 20 years. Award-winning chef Susur Lee has crafted a menu with creative, shareable dishes that balance the traditions of both Chinese and French cuisines, with a vibrant urban atmosphere. Head east for Baro, another restaurant known for its unique dishes, serving flavourful Latin cuisine in a 3-storey space, filled with eccentric decor and complete with a heated rooftop. Also nearby is Toronto’s Stackt Market, a trendy shopping and restaurant hub designed entirely out of reclaimed shipping containers.
