Slide 1

In a flashback scene in episode 2 of Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2, there’s a scene at the Fire Nation Gardens, which you may recognize as Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, a tranquil oasis tucked within the heart of Vancouver's historic Chinatown. As the first full-scale classical Chinese garden built outside of China, the garden is a masterpiece of traditional design, featuring serene ponds, winding pathways, ornate pavilions and curated landscapes that create a sense of harmony and balance. After exploring the garden, make your way to Hunnybee Bruncheonette, a charming local favourite known for creative brunch dishes, including sweet or savory ricotta pancakes. With its bright atmosphere and inventive menu, it's the great spot to refuel before continuing your day of exploring downtown Vancouver. From there, head toward the waterfront and spend some time at Concord Community Park. Complete with walking paths, public art and a volleyball court, take a moment to really appreciate Vancouver's outdoor lifestyle. To round out the day, catch a performance at Queen Elizabeth Theatre, one of the city's premier performing arts venues. Home to major Broadway productions, concerts, dance performances and cultural events, the theatre has been a cornerstone of Vancouver's arts scene for decades. Together, these cultural attractions, local eateries and waterfront spaces create a well-rounded Vancouver experience.
