The town of Senlin, which Zuko and Iroh explore in episode 5 while searching for information on Aang’s whereabouts, was built by the production team on The Farm on 264. Originally a world class equestrian centre, The Farm on 264 now operates as a professional film studio and hosts some of British Columbia’s largest movie and television productions. This 24 acre property is located right beside the scenic Jackman Wetlands, and is also a short drive away from the stunning Aldergrove Regional Park. North of the farm, you can explore the charming town of Aldergrove, BC and enjoy one of the town’s many great eateries. Head to India’s Most Wanted for some delicious and tender tandoori chicken, or head to Hive Donut Hut for a decadent treat.
The cavern outside Omashu that Aang and Teo explore in episode 3 is part of a real cave system located on MacInnes Farms, a 100-acre property that operates both as a farm and a film studio. In addition to growing apples and hazelnuts in their orchard, and cultivating hops and barley for their on-site artisan brewery, MacInnes Farms has opened their doors to British Columbia’s vibrant film community and has become a hotspot for local filming. The farm even offers guided tours, so you can explore their impressive Jamestown set, which consists of an entire Wild West town. The area is well known for its equestrian offerings, including the nearby Thunderbird Show Park; one of North America’s premier equestrian facilities and host of six major hunter and jumper show tournaments each year. Afterwards, gallop over to the Roots and Wings distillery and enjoy craft cocktails made from spirits that were distilled and ingredients that were grown on-site. If you’re looking for peaceful accommodations that reflect the beauty of the area, look no further than Sage and Solace. An organic flower farm, Sage and Solace offers two lodging options: the serene Carriage House, offering a courtyard with view, and the luxurious Garden View Suite, which is built into the side of a hill!
